Description
Neolithic brown marble idol from the 3rd millenium with a cylindrical shape, with a direct linkage to “Oculado” from the Iberian peninsula. This type of figurine is smaller than Chalcolithic examples and grooves are more depth chiseled. This figurine features on its face, two sun eyes with eyebrows above. Four lateral grooves are chiseled and cross on its back. Hair is symbolized with several perpendicular grooves that lerad to a kind of grid pattern.
These grooves were made with the abrasion by a softer stone (same process as the process of polishing stone axes during the neolithic era). The whole piece features a wonderful sand patina.
