This iron sarmatian dagger has been found in the South of Ukraine territory during the 1960’s and dates from the 1st to 2nd century A.D.
This weapon is really thin (a thickness of 2 to 3 mm on the hilt and the blade), however very strong. Edges of the blade are parallel up to 3/4 of its length with a width of 30 mm, and then rejoin to form the tip. It is quite similar to pompeii gladius regarding the shape of the blade. The guard is more thick and larger (57 mm) than the overall weapon and the ring at the base of the hilt measures a bit more than 40 mm of diameter.
