Description

This bronze pick axe has been discovered in the northern part of Caucasus and dates back between 1200 and 1800 B.C.
This kind of weapon has asocket to insert a shaft and was casted using the lost wax method. This was a very maniable weapon as well as really deadly in piercing opponent’s armor and helmet.

Condition

Superbe excavation patina with earth deposits remaining. No missing part or major lack of matter. Close to mint state.

 

Provenance

This artefact had been in a Russian private collection for more than 60 years.
