Description
Bronze crossbow fibula, dating back between 300 and 350 A.D. It shows 3 onions (with one tip slightly broken). The upper part of the arch is thinly ciseled with a multitude of little stripes and the upper part of the catch plate has several solar patterns (2 at the beginning of the arch and 4 at the end ot the catch plate).
Genceva dates back these fibulae, between the Constantine the Great era and the reign of Constantine II (337 – 340).
Some small stabilized cracks from corrosion. Important earth deposits on the hinge’s area.
